Default Quad-Core Opteron 1U server w/ 4GB Corsair ECC + 2-80GB SATA

I had this server for my hosting business and then sold out to another company. The machine is currently housed in Voxel.net in NYC. The machine saw about 4 months of usage and is sitting there unused. Voxel will be happy to send it directly to your home or datacenter as you decide. It currently has Windows 2003 Enterprise 64-bit OS in it which I have the retail box and disk for here at home. I spent $5000 building this system and it was the best you could buy at the time. Today it goes to the first $2000 offer I get. It is a Tyan 1U case/MB and has two dual-core Opteron 270 cpus in it with 4 sticks of Corsair ECC 1GB memory chips in it. The buyer gets the server, the OS, and all the manuals that came with it. I don't know how effective it will be to offer it here but since I'm here every day and have done deals with NUMEROUS users of RCTech I figured it was worth the shot. Voxel charged me $329/mth to house it there but when you look at the location you can probably understand why I was willing to pay it since they have Equinix bandwidth. The machine is still mounted in the racks at Voxel and can be pulled and shipped the day after payment is received or can continue to be housed there if you created an account with them. The option is yours.

P.S. I will cover all shipping/handling charges so you get it for the price listed OBO. I'll let it run for one week and see how it goes. I'd like to see it gone ASAP as Voxel would like their rack-space back and I have no further use for this kick-a$$ machine.

$1800 and no more bumps. This is it. If anybody wants/needs one of the meanest quad-core Opteron servers money can buy... here's your chance to get it for far less than half of it's purchased cost. It was $5000 for me to build it from the best of Tyan, Corsair and AMD and it's yours for $1800. Otherwise I guess it stays in NYC and they can figure out what to do with it. It's a shame, PERFECT 1U system and it's just going to end up in the scrap pile. No more bumps on this thread, this is your last chance to speak up and make a deal. If you're serious about powerful servers this machine has your name all over it. 8.0GHz of cpu power, 4GB of ECC Corsair RAM, 2 SATA drives in it and room for a total of 4 hot-swappable drives without even sliding the rack out. Don't let a great server go to the scrap yard. Let it do what it was built to do...WORK!!

Such a shame that this never got sold. It goes to the server graveyard in one week. So sad.

Ship it to yourself and list it on a tech forum such as Hardocp, Anand, or others. It will go fast if you sell it as pieces and it sure beats letting it go.
