VSR02/VSR03, for 25% use the original shim setting.
1 copper shim(0.1mm)
1 Alu shim(0.15mm)

this is a great engine with better mileage and torque but less top speed. os is famous with inexpensive parts. need less time to run in
ever since i switched from nr to os, i never looked back. highly recommend.

hi rody quick ? when you buy a new 2103 it comes all ready together is it shimmed for 16% nitro ? thanks

sorry I just seen it comes with 2 button head the other head is for 25% u just switch the shims..

I bought one from a modifier here in the us wont mention names and was pre run but was no second button head, don't know if he forgot putting it back in or not anyhow ran it sunday first time came button and piston were destroyed couldn't figure why until just now !! oh well such is life

If you have 2 heads then you leave the shims the same for both heads.
The one with the smallest combustion chamber is the one for 16% use.

I can offer you my opinion after testing a lot!!! between the hipex and the 2015 nova the nova imo was way better and all tests done with lap counter, anyway the 2069 evo 2 is what u want to get.

Normally the R2103 are supplied with 1 combustion chamber and OS says that the when you have with this head 1x0.1 + 1x0.15 shims you should be OK for 25% nitro.

If the head and piston are destroyed then you must have been really too lean, are the bearings still OK?

yes was a combo of things all my fault, I just was finishing building a new on road track here in new jersey, I worked like 12 hours in 90 degrees heat it was the end of the day I was shot but wanted to get that run in on the new track you know the feeling!!!! I went out 25% and learning the new layout I wasn't paying attention car wasn't shifting right, motor was screamin but I just wanted to blast around and so this is what I get for not paying attention!!! yes bearings are perfect but when turning over the flywheel it don't feel right at the top , almost like the rod stretched ...

rody should I change the button head and the piston or is the whole motor garbage now and just buy a new one?

If the piston/sleeve still has good compression and the side of the piston is still clean then you can clean the top of the piston and combustion chamber(use 2000 grid waterproof sandpaper) and try again.
However check the bearings also.
