Rody, do you have an answer on my question regarding shimming?
If with the new 12~13% nitro fuels (16% by weight) you can remove the 0.15 shim instead of the 0.1mm shim to run the normal old 16%

For sure the 0.15 can be something to try when using an official produced 16% by weight fuel. But until now I have not been able to find this.
In France we just got the news that the nitro rule has been pushed for one year, so we are good for 2022

That is good to hear that Frans is not in a hurry to make a direct change. I still have about 10 liter of fthe old 16% uel and it seems the Netherlands and Belgium is forcing the new fuel because the new Nitromax is on its way. Also the upcoming EC40+ need to be run with the new fuel.
I will mix some methanol and castor oil to nitro less fuel to mix it up with my fuels to 13%, I have heard the Italians run 13.5% nitro that stays just within the maximum determined weight of gravity.
There is a high chance this year I will swap to OS, I am running my last Novarossi engines, thats why.

Anyway, it is stil not very clear how this restriction can be settled or put in place while there are still discussions going on between the gouvernements and the RC associations who are inflicted by this.
And as you can see, there is no real way to control the real % of nitro in the fuel as actually some manufacturers are playing with specific low density oils and which make this thing even more complicated. At the end all this is not really good for our sport.
If your upcoming event has to be run with this new rule, then some manufacturer has to start and produce the allowed mixture and make it available to everybody! Also the so called new Nit.roMax has to be available too

Yeah, true, but w/o selling higher content nitro or pure nitro no user should be able to use it as well unless the user has a licence to get pure nitro.
The new Nitromax seems to come from Capricorn and is ready to ship so it is on time when the season starts.
And yes, I did try to get some Runnertime Ultra (16% acting as 25%) but nowhere to get so I am afraid this "secret" fuel is not for everyone to get and does fool other drivers. Indeed just checking the weight does not tell a thin about the nitro content as in the past with the 25% rule it was easy to run up to 32% on hot days.

0% nitro works on airplane engines but very hard to make this work on car engines. Main problem is the idle. It becomes very hard to keep the engines going at low rpm.

Have you been seeing a quality issue with the current OS engine parts and engines you have been receiving? Break in on new OS engines is not the same. They have always broken in a little faster then nova, but now there is almost no break in time required. Pinch seems to be almost non existent on new motors? I know OS is busy trying to keep up with demand, but hope they aren't cutting corners on QA checks.

Could it be that they have learned from the difficult break in issues of the 2104 and so changed the starting pinch?
