On large tracks you can add an 0.1mm shim so the engine can run higher revs but it will loose a tiny bit bottom torque.
And with todays 0.15 and .25 shims you can even finetune in 0.05mm steps headplay.

Also the milage can be afected by these changes.
Thanks Roelof, nothing to add...:-)

Rody, is the HIPEX 21 2069 Strada Evo2 pipe different now than the 2069 HD Pipe. I recall that Collari raced the 2069 EVO2 yet his was anodized Grey, Is this where the HD comes in now?

The 2069 Evo2 form Collari or Hipex are the same.
Collari found his own supplier for the Hard Anodizing and Hipex uses a different supplier.
For me the outcome is the same in terms of performance, they just look different.

The first one we got from Hipex were like on the picture(dark blue) but after we used them they became red.
So the one's you have seen on RCMag are the pipes from last year you see on the pictures.

The color should stay stable now, but at the end the reason for the Hard Coating is to make the material a little more stiff and easier to clean.

hi rody, how well would my vs02 perform in a GT car, as i do not need to
compley with GT rules (5ports 7mm restrictor) or would i get better performance from a engine made for GT.

It should perform better, but you probably need to work the clutch because the VSR02 has less torque in the low rpm area compared to the GT engines.
You could just try and see how it works out.

Hi Rick,

If you are going to use the VSR02 then I suggest to use the VS30L50 manifold.

For the new engines, we still need to sell some VSR03 engines before moving to something new.

hi rody could you help with a tuning problem on my vsr02 and os r2102 with
vs button fitted i have the same problem. feels like a lean bog but more in the midrange, this is worst coming out of the hairpin at end of the streigh
i managed to tune it out for the final but had rich bottom and top.at end of
15mins engine temp was low 90s with air temp around 18.engine ideled down
streigh away on pitstops and end of race.

the vsr02 is great in gt car whey more power than grip at the moment and the early clutch does not seem to be a problem.

Hi Rick,

If you engines has a hard time to come out of the corner after the straight then this is for me a clutch coming in too early.
Seems in the final your engine was too rich overall and with these temperatures(90°C) the engine should be strong on bottom and mi-range. Unless the clutch comes in too early it will make the engine slow out of the corners.
