STS Engine Break-in Temp

Dear all
I have a STS .28 engine for Savage. I read the instruction given from the manufacturer. It is reminded to break in the engine below 80 degree. I have a temperature detector. However, I found that measurement result in different location of the engine has a great difference even the location is very close to each other. For example, I measure the glow plug, the temp is 95 degree. At the same time, I measure the temp of heat sink....I get the result of 60 degree. Grateful if you could tell me which engine part I shall measure its temp.....Thanks

Glow-plug. And for consistancy always measure your temps at the same spot.

Do you mean 80* celsius if not that has got to be a misprint. When I am breaking in a new engine I try to keep it above 200* and run it rich. I wrap the head in foil to achive this. If you are breaking it in at 80* you are sucking the life right out of it.

80 degrees Celsius = 176 degrees Fahrenheit

His post says 80,95 and 60 degree I wasn't sure if he ment celsius or fahrenheit. Always best to find out first as I have seen stranger things!

The manual gives both C & F measurements. Hope this helps.
