Default Placing cheap "normal" bearings in a Virtus

100+ dollar for a main bearing is insane and not needed, for sure when there is no real proof the dam in the crankcase with the smaller inner ring of the bearing will safe fuel.

Someone asked me if I could modify the crankcase to fit a normal bearing and as I have written it a lot I now got the chance to do it.

1st to make an adapter to mount the crankcase:

With a modified bolt to finish the clamp construction:

The mount with a clear sight on the dam:

On the lathe:

After trimming down the dam:

Everything fits with a normal 14.5 x 26 bearing:

Nice report and nice job Roelof, that's a real simple modification, for sure the Engine will still run good.
