Suitable Replacement for Tamiya (O.S.) FS-12SS Engine

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and fairly a novice basher ;)

I like many people in the early 2000's made the mistake of buying an entry level/ budget Tamiya XBG (TGS) Chassis RTR which came with the pathetic Tamiya FS-12SS engine (.12) made by O.S. Basically a O.S. Max 12CV engine.

After all these years I have fished it out, wiped the dust off and want more power. I've lost a lot of compression too and very hard to start and run.

I wanted to know besides getting an OS or Tamiya engine what else would fit?

I was thinking of a HPI T-15 (.15). Will it fit? Crank Rod looks looks ok IMO from looking at pictures but will the crank casing be the correct block dimension?

Any ideas whats good?

Cheers,

The crankcase mounting footprint should be the same. What type of crankshaft does the original engine have? SG?

OS 18TZ, same footprint of 12 & 15 engines.
