carby maintance questions
Hey guys
was wondering if you guys ever pull out your carbies regularly to replace the o ring seals on the mixture screws. I am currently suspecting that my mixture screws are unscrewing on their own ... and suspect that i damaged the seals when i was cleaning my engine i used engine degreaser (the automotive trade cans) and since at the time i did not have access to a air compressor i had to resort to leaving it in the sun to dry along with my chassis. Whats your thoughts? |
Brain Teased,
I usually replace the orings in my engines once a season, but it depends on the use of the engine. Also if you spend alot of time tweaking the adj. screws it is possible for the o-rings to tear. If your adj. screws wander from vibration, then I would say you definitly need to change your o-rings. Just be sure to put a little oil on them when you install them so they have a little lube going back in or you might catch the o-ring and tear it. BK |
Who makes replacement Orings for a novarossi carb? I cant seem to find a part number or listing on teh novarossi site.

BK yea ill have a go at it and hopefully ill learn something new :) RC paper boy your best bet would be going to a automotive parts shop and asking them for a o ring seal kit. which will include all sorts of sizes including your fuel tank lid etc.. :) |
