well you might be right , i really have not seen the insides of one yet ,but from the pics it seems to have the smaller pin

so the 2018 is the pipe of choice, but i noticed the manifolds are different than traditional novarossi one's the put the length<ribbs> right by the exaust outlet, rather than on the horizontal like others, is this how these motors are needed to be run?

yes the 2018 is the best pipe for the XL9,Max only has one header t the moment wich comes with the pipe kit,here is a pic of the new header.

can someone tell me the correct shims to use for 20% nitro and for 30% nitro.
its a max .21 xrs onroad

I heard the MCoy #9 plugs work real well with the XL9 TQ' .21 motor, anyone care to comment on that, tried and trued? I thought those were a rtr plug..i might have it wrong...thanks

McCoy plugs will not work, XL9 TQ uses Turbo glow plugs.
