i believe the crankcase from the Novarossi RX21WC is the same as the Max XL7, but its going to cost you the about the same as the Max look into it before doing anything,my suggestion.

Hey Guys,

Got a MAX POWER .21 XLTQ and i NEED URGENT to know what the MAX POWER is based upon Novarossi Parts for the Piston, Sleeve & Button as i have a very unhealthy Piton and Sleeve

Not sure what went wrong, but i did run the engine short period on the lean but today in my club race the ENGINE RAN 100Degrees all day, plenty of power still

Head Shim was Standard in box 0.6mm and 25% nitro fuel.... Race in Australia and run a Novarossi 2015 pipe and 41015 conical manifold....

Can someone help work out where to get replacement parts for my MAX!

Cheers
Frankie

35+21. Crank and bearings are different. It's lean. High speed needle should be close to being flush with the holder. Low speed will be pretty far in. Comes out of the box shimmed for 20%. Thats a hot pipe ya got there. What venturi is in the carb? Are ya making run time? Or did ya lean it out in an attempt to make it to the end? Add a .1mm, better yet add a .05 if you can find some and keep an I on your tuning.

Engine on HS is bit over flush so its rich on top, the bottom end is also rich and pretty far out aswell...

Venturi standard 8

Run time only just in 5 mins so the tune was good

I have experience in tune, but something has gone terrible wrong - possibly bad fuel, maybe glow plug, but the O'Donnel 97T seemed to be fine

Never flamed out, never stalled ran very strong and was consistant

Idle no drama was easy to tune but all i can think is either, air leak, not enough head shims, bad fuel or tune settings not correct, but from the information you gave above i was well rich from what you have stated.

So is 35+21 based engine the internals like the head button / piston /sleeve will fit?

I think a Nova LL3/LS3 piston and sleeve will work.

HSN - can se in photo its RICH

LSN - also rich aswell

Pipe combo: Novarossi 2015 / Manifold 41015 Conical

INS box Xceed Clear

O'Donnell 97T or 99T

I have asked a fellow Aussie Racer Michael Kerr - Sponsor Mugen Driver here in Australia and he said what i have he has run and works fine.....

I can only think what went wrong was bad break-in / Rushed or That one time i had it run tab lean caused this damage.

Bit of a bummer as its only 6 litres of fuel old

What Kgombe said, 6 liters on the factory ceramic is pretty good. Check the rod. I was thinking of the 2013, my bad. Glow plug. Have no Idea about the Odonnel stuff. Im running #7 max power.

Head clearance needs to be higher closer to 70 for 25%
looks like a scar/rub mark on the piston
I also use the maxpower #7 or if you can find them grp/ninja #7

yes you are correct the MaxPower XL7 has a different case with the smaller bearing 25.4 but i thought his engine was a XLTQ9 that does have the same bearing as the RX21WC 25.8

Hey Guys, since my MAX photos in previous post, i finally got myself NEW piston sleeve and button head, went for optional parts Novarossi 35PLUS21 "Lostallo 9 port" this was the information on the package from a Australian supplier Radical RC Hobbies - they looked after me well so i cant complain.

So far everything is going well in the breakin procedure, i have done 2 tanks, the first being a heat cycle process from Ron Paris tips....

Now doing a full flush and in the next few days it will see the track for some easy laps....

Ill report back next week to see how i went in the South Australian State Tittles...

Cheers
Frank
