Default OS.18 tz

Has anyone tried this engine for onroad use? How does it perform and what kind of runtime do you get? Can it go five minutes on a tank of fuel?

reddishdsb... The 0S.18TZ, Has power all over the place and in a 1/10 sedan, it's easy to get alittle out of control with so much power... Learning to drive with more speed will help you when you go back to driving a stock .12 motor... I ran it once in a club race just to see what would happen... Wow... There was 2 JP fx.12's running as well and no motor could touch it. I practice with it mostly because you'll only get 3.5-4mins tops as far as run time. 18's just drink more fuel then 12's and remember, that the 18TZ is a 5 port motor as well... I'll say this, if you like to run outlaw or wish you could keep up with 1/8 onroad cars... Throw on a lola body with that motor and with the power to weight ratio... You'll be faster then most 1/8th scale cars on the track... The main problem is learning to control all that power... ... But that's a Good Problem...

I am thinking about getting one for parking lot banging i am running mtx3 with
rex rer.12s3 now but hate to waste this engine in the parking lot. Plus they
only run 4 min heats and mains in this lot.

I get just over 5 min or run-time with my tz on a single tank. What a sweet engine! Too bad it rubs everyone the wrong way when you lap the field 2x using this engine.!

Cool

The only thing I can see putting the .18 TZ in for 1/10rth street use would be a drift car.....
You wouldn't have any problem lighting up all 4 tires any time you wanted!! LOL!!

Probably, not even OS Japan sells this engine (for once, US has something interesting instead of Japan)..............it is a prototype (test market kind) engine for the current 12 TZ series....$180 is a very chepa price for some high quality and high power engine.

Reddishdsb must first learn to handle a .12 motor before he wories about a .18 motor.
