I used the mystery oil for years It works very well then 1 day I was talking to Eric Selesky / AKA Big E Selesky the Owner operator of Nitro Dynamics out in Cali. God rest his soul.
His Drag Engines were off the hook !!! For some reason we were discussing what lubrication he was using in his modded engines.
He told me about CorrisionX and I have never looked back. I have never had any issue with it and the “film” it puts down doesn’t just run off with gravity I was very impressed with its properties.
Here is a link to the home page, read for yourself it’s incredible. Heavy Marine and Gun users swear by it.
I use the Red can 6oz spray.

It's the aerosol version of CorrosionX. Can I use the Trigger Spray type?

Al most of the red AROs are is ATF. So if you like it, go get a bottle of ATF from the auto parts store.
Marvel Mystery Oil is just ATF with oil of wintergreen added.
ATF is a good ARO. The only problem is that they say it can damage the silicone ramps in many cranks these days. I have never seen it, I suspect you would have to soak it in ATF for months to have a problem. Still, just to be safe I switched to a synthetic oil. Mobil One is doing just fine for me.

Oils aint Oils Sol'...
Scrub alu or steel clean of oxides, place two drops of fuel on cleaned surface, add two drops of AR oil, one on fuel and one on metal. Leave for a day or so, check if there are reactions between fuel and oil creating coagulates and see if oxide forms on metal.

The packaged Hobbico oil is repackaged Marvel Mystery Oil.
So yes, it is good, And really the best way to clean, de-gum or store your r/c engine. It is designed to be burn, so if you have any left in the engine, it will burn away, unlike motor oils.
