Nanda Engine Break In Stand

Hi Guys,

I purchased an engine break in stand, NANDA, seems like a rip-off of the Hudy version!

How do I start the engine! I have a .12 installed + the propellor etc. How do I crank the engine over?

The locking coller for the prop. is conical shaped & has two flat sides, which look ideal for attaching someting to spin the engine but what?

Thanks in advance

You need to get one of these.

Yeah, that would be nice if you like to do things the easy way.;)
If you like to do things the hard way than just spin the prop. I recommend using a stick. My finger is a little beat-up after breaking-in 2 new engnes this week. It may take a little longer but it will work.

As for the process of breaking-in an engine, there are many different opinions. I use the manufacturers directions.

Search tower for a chicken stick.

That's dangerous! I just can't see using a chicken stick or your bare hands. The starter is only $20. SAFE and fast.

I use the finger method too. I love this break in stand! It save me a lot of time and money if I crash my car during break in on the track. Good investment and last forever!

Just stick you finger in and close your eyes. You can count my fingers next weekend at the Nats. Still got all of them in one piece :p

Not too bad. A 2-stroke (up to a .46cu.in. or so) will give you a little knick and stop. A 4-stroke however will give you that knick and come round for a second stab.

The secret is to swing the prop from the outside edge so that when you hit the compression you hand is moving away from the area of the prop.

Starter is safer yes but the sudden burst stresses out the engine. Chicken sticks I wouldnt agree with. They can chip the prop etc which isnt good. I prefer a rubber finger glove like the one Dubro do.
