Guys

I'm looking for a new engine and considering the OS .12 TZ Speed. Now I've never had any experience with the OS engines and wonder if anyone could shed any light on their durability compared to say a Novarossi. Certainly the stripped down pictures of the engine I have seen on the web don't appear to be of the same quality as the Italian engines, but I just fancy something a little different.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

The TZ is by far my favourite mill for the money. I have a Novarossi LL3, a RB V12 and to be honest i prefer the TZ, i haven't had any problems with the quality of the engine, and its right up there with the Italian mills IMO! The Speed is just insane!

tower does not seel replacement parts for the speed, the stock one a good performer but the new nova 12-3ct is faster for what iīve heard

Thanks Seisick,

The parts supply is definitely another consideration, especially here in the UK where the OS on-road engines don't seem to be as popular as they are in the USA. I believe the spares are considerably cheaper than the Nova's though?

I run my tz 3 port with the 5 port crankshaft, it goes head to head on a medium sized track against the sirios sti and new picco red dot wich by the way its a nice option on price vs performance,
stock shimming on 20 nitro and coupled with the os 1040-vr 12 plus or mugen p1004 will make a nice combo on your tz, on my club is the most popular engine and easy to tune, you canīt go wrong

happy racing

12TZ is using Turbo Head. So you need to use Turbo Plugs.

P3 Very Hot plug for very cold weather
P6 Hot plug for cold weather
P7 Medium plug for warm
P8 Cold plug for hot weather

Thank you... Have been told by a friend that has one of these engines that they loose a fair bit of compression within only a few litres of fuel:S
