Scoobs,

What are you looking for? Typically I've been running a P8 plug, but I'm going to try a P7. Make sure you put some loctite(blue) on the carb nut so that it doesn't back out and come loose. Temp range with my motor is between 215 - 230. The motor has lots of bottom end so when I ran my MTX-4 I geared it 18/24 59/53 for our track. On my G4S I'm running 18/24 51/45.

Hope this helps,
Mark

Mark,
Are you running this weekend @ 301 raceway? Would like to take a closer look at the G4s.

Jamie,

Yes I'll be running this weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Right now I'm waiting on Ed to get my engine back to me. It should be at the house if everything went to plan. I'm trying to get to the track on Wed. to get somemore time with the car before this weekend as I want to try a few things.

Last Saturday I was at the track just hanging out and it's back to the original layout. Meaning the full long back straight.

Mark

Another quick Q...how long do these OS engines last to say other brands after factoring in variables? Lets assume it has been through a race season and well tuned.

Thanks Mark. Appreciate the response. I just finished breaking in my tz eb mods OMG....it has endless rpm....it spins the car up so fast I cant even hear my 2 speed shift on my Mk.2 Pro.

Glad to hear your temp range sound more reasonable than what ive been told, which was 230-250?? Anyhow...the motor is plenty fast for my tamiya...car rips non the less and will take some getting used to from my older NTC3.

Cheers,

Sal

Bert,
Like any brand engine, you have to almost view it as being dispensable. Yes, they are built for competition, but with that in mind you cannot expect it to last forever. OS engines are extremely reliable, but in competition most take it to the limit looking for 100%. In those condition you cannot expect to have an engine last you forever without a rebuild. Now if you baby it, you will get a ton more life out of it. You are faced with the same problem no matter which brand you choose.

Can anyone shed some light on OS 12 TZ tuned vs. the NovaRossi Plus 12-3C? Plus 12-3C seems to be a pretty good deal. It is only $295 at rctore vs TZ tuned, which is above $300 anywhere. thx.

All depends on what track your running. I believe that the TZ tuned has more bottom end but lacks the top-end. The Novarossi Plus 12-3C has a very nice powerband and an awesome top-end.

I can't seem to find the rebuild PS for the EB mods engine or Carlsens version? Wonder how much they go for?
