I think the Tower price is a bit much. I'm glad I ordered mine from Japan. :) I'll have to order the short shaft version for my RC10GT from Japan also, if the price doesn't come down.

E-Spec was over $200 with shipping from HK. I think it was around $190 before shipping.

Does anyone know if a standard crank version is available overseas (or anywhere) yet? Really itching to try one in my truck.

then is for sure that the tz will be no more than 160-180, the 18 tz is 180 right now, so it's for sure that the price will be 160. once they get stock the price will go down from 250 to 160-180.
the good thing is that it will come in pilot, short, standard, and even 5 port pilot. must be a beast for my xxx nt truck.

USD 160 for .12 TZR? Wow, my LHS is definitely going to be very rich by selling them USD 220 each

Anyway, looking from the outside I think the TZR has better quality compare to other OS .12 and .21 engines so far. Don't know for it's durability and also quality of their bearings.

A couple of questions for those who ordered thier engines from overseas,

How long did it take to arrive??
Were the instructions in english??

I blew the engine in my sprint car last night & this looks like a great engine.

Does anyone know of a place in the US that has these engines in stock??

I have emails to pro shop Futaba & RC Mushroom, I'll see what they have & what the price is.

I may just wait a couple of weeks till it's availible at Tower, If they come down from the $250 price!!!
Hopefully it'll be closer to the .18TZ's $180 price.

I am sure that Tower price will come down. Most of the time on new products tower lists a higher price(Probably Retail Price) and then when it comes in stock it drops to the normal price.

Let's hope so!!!
It would make things simpiler to order from Tower than from Hong Kong or Japan!!

I got a reply from Pro Shop Futaba, $235 including shipping for the 5 port.

These .12TZR's are a revelation in my book.

I bought one from Hong Kong via ebay (the sellers ID is neogl for anyone wondering).

I am in Australia and half the shops here haven't even heard of the TZ let alone stock it.

It cost me US$189 + shipping and it arrive packaged very well, with instructions in english and all.

I got about 3 tanks through it before our race day (not ideal and still way tight but I was short on time).

When my G4 was matching pace with and passing the 2 Rody powered cars on the track, a lot of people started paying attention. I ran the motor with the Skyline Racing Developments pipe and I have to say, for the price, it is one wicked motor!

I guess the only thing now is to see how long it lasts.
