RB TXR 2012 Touring Engine 1/10

Hi
Have someone tried this engine already? What have RB changed from T11RS/RC to that 2012 engine line?
Thanks in advance.

Any notice of that? What is the difference between TX and CX series?

thilo-alexander 08-24-2012 01:50 PM

Hey,
engines had a great start here in germany,
same power als the Keep-On
Conrod seems to be more durable cause of greater dimensions

CXR is handtuned all parts fit together very well.

CXR is a very good engine ,worth the $ with lots of top end!!!

Both engines, TX and TXR shows a great performance.
While the TX is more for tecnical, short tracks, where you need, good punsh out from the corners, the TXR shows in all areas more power, so you can use it also on high speed tracks.

Depends on the track, but you have to gear the TX engines a little bit shorter than other ones. After that you will have a lot of fun with it.

Is TXR Nova Based?

I am shocked i cannot find any reviews or testing on the RB TX line of engines? I am on the fence on purchasing the TX and then buying the TXR in the spring, but cannot find anything on them Like results, quality, packaging, performance difference between the TX and TXR. If anyone has any details and track experience please chime in! Thanks!

I just ran the RB TXR last Sunday. Had ~3 litres through it and the engine ran great for the 45 min main, no problem at all. The quality is great, it is easy to tune and it sounds great with the 2668 pipe. The cooling head is kind of awkward, at least when it comes to attaching manifold springs, but is this is just a minor inconvenience and is probably for a reason.

The previous race I ran a Murnan Flash 3 and my best lap time were 1-2 tenths better with the Murnan. Both engines spool up very quickly and relatively smooth/linear. The Murnan seems to have a bit more on the long straight.

This is a helluva a deal on the TXR. If outside the EU then one does not need to pay the VAT (19% discount).

What are you waiting for? What other stock engine are you going to buy?

I have never tried the TX.

hello!!
I have a TXR which performs great ;) but I have problems when i need to set the mechanical minimum rpm idle because the screw is hidden by the large and lowered cooling head.

Do you also have this problem? how did you solved it?

Thx! :)

Yes, same thing on mine. I over-rotate the carb so that the slide throttle opens towards the center of the fuel tank.

I took a different way and cut out a part of the head (it's so big that it will not be a problem :D ) ...Now it's ok and the carburator has the position I want.
