HI!

I normally run it betwen 240 and 260 with .6 head shims, 30% Maxys team edition (clear), But it had moments where it has reached 300* due to bad settings. Our mains are normally about 25 to 45 minutes.

well I ran the mega motor at the winternats and during qualifiers it started at 165 and ended at 175 and during the main it started at 165 and ended at 200. Also i ran the same rod all week. picco mega motor loves to run rich and makes tons of power at still made 5 mins. When the motor gets hot it gets slow so run it rich. Also i had never ran the motor before and it is by far the fastest .12 motor i have ever ran

I just bought the 201001 MEGA ZX12 LEGAL RACE. I'm moving to 30% with this new engine, what would be the correct head shims to put in?

What does it come with stock?

Thanks,

Hi!

Some of them came wiht 1 shims, some others with 2, You should try first with .6 that will be around 3 shims.

Thanks,
I believe they come with .5mm of shims and that should be fine for 30%.

Default Mega ZX 21 on road

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting the Mega ZX21 on road but I've been told they don't last long at all. They say that they will throw rods really easy and compression does not last past 2 gallons. I need some unbiased opinions and experiences with this motor.

Thanks

Your are right about the ZX21 having problems with premature conrod failure. They are also having problems with the crank breaking. You would be better off to go with a novarossi base motor, like rex, top, max or even a RB. The new novarossi 35 plus motor is a great motor with ceramic main bearing and they went back to the cnc piston and sleeve. Good luck !!!

for the price of a 35 plus engine You can buy 2-3 Mega engines, and I bet that those 2-3 will last longer than 1 35 plus.....

Yep, and also a 35 plus can have a failure.....
and then You whished you had a Mega........

But, a 35 plus is faster, but for me it is not worth the price difference......
not at all....
I have raced 4 races in the Dutch championship with my ZX21 engine, and only replaced the conrod 1 time. after a total of 8 liters of fuel (almost 2 gallons) I replaced the piston/liner/conrod and bearings, but even then I still didn't spend what a 35 plus will cost you.....

And 95% of the drivers here DON'T need that much power, they just need to learn to drive better...

Also Serpent is testing the new Mega engines, (all internal parts are changed), and for what i have seen, quiet impressive... and... reliable.......

If that's the case I'd guess I'd try the Zx21 package...if my LHS can back me up with spare parts.
