For any one in need fo the O-rings, Winner's Circle has them in stock. I just got the engine this past weekend and noticed the O-ring sticking out of the low-end of the carb. Go to gasrccar.com, you can call and order it. Part #202073.

Red5, I've heard various recommendations about changing conrods - anywhere between 5 to 10 litres. What's your or anyone else's opinion(s)?

It's crazy, I've seen a few go within a gallon and then I know a guy who has one from the First batch that became available and he runs every weekend and it's still going strong. So who knows what to believe.

and what about the .21 engine?

Here is something nice i've noticed in the engine's manual.
It say's to replace the conrod every 5-8 hours of running.

The older NovaMega engine manual advises to replace the conrod every 12-15 hours of running.

Does this mean that the materials used in the Mega are by default of less quality the the older Nova based engines?

Could be... Or it could be that the new Mega Picco pulls too much power for it to withstand 12-15 hours of running. There for its adviced to be changed each 5-8 hours.

It's gotten to the point of these newer motors are making so much Power & torque that you are starting to find weak spots. You don't see Top fuel Funny cars making more then 1 pass down the track before rebuilding the motor. Same with nascar Or Formula 1 . they run 1 - 2 races for formula 1 now , And Nascar goes 500 miles. It's called the RAGGED Edge

I don't think it is so much being a ( cheap material ) as too the rpm that this zx 12 can turn. It's like it will never flatten out.... but something has to give.that being the rod.I think a newer rod is in the works but I also think it will lower the RPMs because of the weight of the rod. if they make it thicker.

Well at least, the Mega/950R combo, with our Belgium neighbour Steven Cuijpers behind the wheel, did a nice job at the European B Championship, because they won it.......

Default Another conrod bites the dust

Heres a pic of a Mega Picco ZX-12 3 port with the broken conrod.
