Another great weekend on the mega 12 . It seems like the motor keeps growing longer legs.

But I do need to find a fuel mileage Pipe. Or maybe I just need to lean her out a little more. But very fast & dependable @ ( 210 deg. )

Same with my ZX21R Murnan...this badboy just keeps winding out further and further, with no probs with the crank.

Paolo, I met you at WinterNats warm up, I use a wheelchair, how should I set up the clutch on a customers 950R with a ZX21. Should I use the collet with the kit or the engine? What spacers where?
Thanks in advance for your speedy responce.

Chuck

after consulting "modelbouwforum"

It didn't concern any broken crankshafts, they wear out to fast.
That seems to be the problem.....

Hi Chuck,

I'm using the collect that comes with the engine, and i'm putting a 0.5 mm spacer before the collet.

Ok.....

I just broke mine in today, I must say, as the piston and sleeve are not as tight as I am used from Nova based engines, i'm a bit concerned about the lifespan of the set.......

It only took me about 4 or 5 tanks to run in the engine........

It is running nice, the engine, but I'm curious if I can drive a whole season with it........

The tightness is less but stays, where last years Nova's would be extremely tight and lose their compression very quickly.

It is not about how tight the set is. It is about how well it seals. You'll also find the Mega engines to be tight only at the very top part, where Nova engines tend to betighter a lot earlier in the stroke.

I am new to 1/8 scale, and just became aware of the crankshaft problem with the ZX-21. I was just about to buy one.

How big is the problem?

And if I buy one from my LHS, how can I tell if there's a problem with the crank?
