Well, with the price of the engine itself being very much cheaper than say a JP FX engine (I think 2 JP FX engines can buy you 3 Mega engines with Mega inline pipe !), you could probably afford the USD 1.50 extra you pay for the per Mega plug. You still have savings unless of couse you start burning out 80 ++ plugs for one engine alone where the break even is.

yes, when trouble began I changed the plug, still the same problem! so eventually I began playing with the needles and somehow I got lost.

goldfinger, IŽll try that but still an initial factory setting will be a a reference point, I think it was 7.5 on the low and 7 on the high, , sea level and 30 celsius is the weather here, engine just broken and never above 220f.

They have to make money somehow. Common marketing practise is to sell items that wont be as big a seller at a cheaper price and then hike the price up on something that is really needed to make up for the lose.

Actually at the Border the Mega plugs are cheaper than the old NovaMega ones.

In any case you'd have to use an enormous amount of plugs to make up the cost difference between the Mega and Nova based engines.

Isn't it in the book that comes with the Engine?

I know my HSN was about 1mm out from flush with the body. Don't know where the LSN was, But i know it's supposed to be a bit on rich end. Good luck. Call Serpent USA. I'm sure they can answer you.

USA retail price for the plugs is in the range of $6.50 to $7.25 (from 5 std hot to 7 conical cold) I thing this price is very similar to the other manufacturers

HSN: 5 1/2 turns
LSN: 2 turns

Engine works better on the rich side (HSN) and normally needs more than a couple of laps to reach the operational temp. I prefer start on the rich side (HSN) and after 4 or 5 laps tune the engine. Doing this process on the bench (or starter box) normally overheat the engine driving you to a wrong tuning and maybe causing a damage (this is not only in our engines, is for all)

Hope this info can help you

Enjoy your Mega

Bro, why bothers in thing you dont use.. find more time playing with your car lah Anyhow, if you who makes comment I can understand because you do scrud (correct word?) on big races. But if someone elses who is clearly distributing other products exclusively than what they make the comments on, what could be the reason besides talking shit?

The thing I don't use? Well it's true, but to be honest, the Mega ZX21 is on my top list now for my 1:8 scale car, but pretty sad that the plugs are not interchangable with Novarossi's...
