I'm still trying to understand just what kind of advice you are looking
for. As I posted above, what exactly are you asking ? "if i do this what shell i have done ? " makes no sense to me at all. You may want to rephrase the question you are wanting to ask advice about. I see that I am the only one that has replied to your thread. Wonder why that is ? huh ? |
well can you read

BigT- I know what your looking for. I would consider talking to the reputable Mod guys and get a new current mill. You always want a good "backup" engine on race day.
As far as the 09, it's really running rich at 185* How much fuel is through it? How'd you break it in? I have the R3 and the '10 RC engines and they usually run over 230* at race tune. Make sure you have a pipe recommended for your engine. Call Murnan, Rick Brake at RB Mods or Reno at RB USA, they'll help you out. Good Luck! Happy Holidays! |
Yea, if he ran a half a gallon of fuel through the engine and
the temps never got over 185*f, the con rod was under quite a bit of un-due stress. It's a shame to see people buy a hi-dollar engine and trash it by not doing a proper break-in procedure on it. I used to watch guys at the 301, take fresh engines and race them right out of the box. It was funny watching those engines throw a rod out the side of the crankcase, when they only had about a gallon of fuel ran through them. One of them even told me that the six-hundred dollar race engines that he runs are only good for about a gallon of fuel before they loose compression or throw a con rod. He stated, "That's the price you have to pay to be fast on this track". |
