break in problems....starterbox not turning the flywheel
 

im having problems with breaking in a new 12. engine...the compressions so tight the starterbox wont turn it...iv tryed heating it with a hair dryer...any other advice :S

isit worth buying a 12v engine pre heater

hair dryer alone may not produce enough heat. I use a heat gun for my new engines and get the head temp to at least 150* and go from there. You definately want the engine to turn over fairly easily so that the conrod won't take so much abuse trying to turn over a tight piston/sleeve combo.

If that does not do it loosen the glow plug about half a turn and try starting it again.:)
