bottom of sleeve has some marks on it that i believe caused some scoring on the piston.

With those scratches on the side of the piston the engine will lose some compression.. The engine I "blew" today was worn, but not as this one I'm afraid I'll have to say..

GrandeGixxer 08-28-2004 12:30 PM

i sanded the scratches out pretty good with some 1000 grit. the guy said he will get it pinched if it needs it. i am going to see if i can get it to run. if not i will go that route. either way it will need to be pinched pretty soon.

It's an NS12s3....You can tell by the crank and piston. Don't squeeze it until it really needs it.

ilaybrk 08-28-2004 08:29 PM

how much did you pay also what is outside dim of crank if 11.0 it is s3 if 11.5 it is ns I hope you didn't give much more than $50 it looks to be in bad shape.

ilaybrk 08-28-2004 08:34 PM

oh I justed look again the carb bolt tells it is a ns
