Replacement bearing for Novarossi
Hi there,
I need a replacement for a Nova 17008 (7x19x5mm), but need rubber shields. Does anyone know where I could get one? Thanks a lot and best regards, Stefan |

The 7x19x6 is a standard size bearing you can order at any bearing manufacturer even companies like SKF and INA but the 5mm thick version is difficult.

...but the 5mm thick version is difficult I know! Still working on my rain car for the new season. The chassis is ready by now, but I still look for solutions to "waterproof" the engine. If I can not find a "RS" type front bearing I will run a buggy engine instead... |

If I can not find a "RS" type front bearing I will run a buggy engine instead... Maybe an idea to find another crankcase and crankshaft with normal bearings? |
Thanks for all your advise Roelof, much appreciated.
Will try the buggy engine for sure. On the other hand, I have two worn out 35+21 based engines. They got the 7x19x5mm bearings with metal shields. Would you run them in the rain, or is it senseless to try without rubber shields? On more question: How do you "set-up" a rain engine? My strategy so far: head gap like normal (0.7mm), very hot plug (5 or 6), lexan under the motor mounts and aluminium foil around the cooling-fins. I know a shorter cooling head would keep the temps up nicely, but sometimes the track dries during a final and then you are glad when you just can remove the foil and adjust the carb for better performance. Thanks again, Stefan |
Normal 35+ has the 6mm bearing, the older ones for sure.
Rain setup for an engine: - place a piece of lexan between chassis and engine mounts - use a small head (I have an Novarossi airplane engine head) - use plug 5 with normal headclearance and have some spares in the pit - use an INSBOX with a cut off airfilter (no filter) |

I have a Cordoba WC (C1/C2 rod) and although I have not removed the bearing, the crank shaft has a longer valve/midsection than that of a standard buggy 14.5 crank, like a Toro Nero ,367, FMS, plus 21-5, 21-7 etc, which I know for a fact that the front bearings are 6mm wide, maybe its a 5mm I don't know for sure...

On the 35+21 based Cordobas and on the newer 35+21 they use the Nova part 17008 which is 7x19x5
