quiet pipe for break in?

Anyone have any ideas to reduce the noise during break in on a run in bench? Out of concern for my neighbors, breaking in motors in my back yard is just too noisy.

Perhaps by fabbing 3 pipes together, or airplane pipes? Any ideas?

I think what I will try to do is fab three associated monster truck pipes togther inline. Just by cutting the front off, and weld together both ends, and weld the first 2 outlets shut.

I used to be really concerned about this too living in the middle of a condo complex. The last motor I broke in was really loud but then when I walked out around my house it wasn't so bad. The further away you get it starts getting quiter quickly.

Well I broke the motor in today. Despite Hooking up in a chain 3 pipes (standard .12 pipes) to a sx15 ev5 the noise still was insane. They were simply copled together using zip ties from inlet to outlet.I haven't had the chance to fab my above mentioned design, but it makes me wonder if it will be worth it. It didn't seem to make a difference. I put some ear plugs on but I managed not to tick off any neighbors.

just do it at a time that it is not quiet hours and you should be fine. these things really dont make any more noise than a lawnmower or a weedwacker. people just seem to get pissed I think cause they are jealous that they dont have one.

Most of the noise comes from the propeller and the intake.
