There are more than 2 choices.

The special is essentially a factory mod. It's probably the best "stock" motor out there, especially on big tracks.

I actually prefer a good modded 35+21 to any of the flashes. More bottom with almost as much top.

If you're not an A-main driver or run on tight or parking lot tracks, don't waste your money on either. Get a Kangaroo. Cheaper, nearly as fast and the reigning ROAR Nats champ so it can definitely get the job done.

The novarossi flash .21 special "TUNED" is factory modified/tuned. Which should be much better than the regular non-special "TUNED" version.

And yeh! a+++ for the novarossi kangaroo, great bottom end and great top. The best bang for buck!

Novarossi are the best. 35+21, Kangaroo and others are Nova motors. I'll find some links for you.

Like I said before, Flash Special Tuned is the best out there but not by much. Unless you are a top amain driver, get a Kangaroo or something like it for less money and use that dough to buy more tires, fuel and parts to do more racing. If you can't win with a Kangaroo, a Flash isn't going to make the difference.

Or even less money (still made by Nova):

Hi guys,
What modifications are performed by Novarossi to a "special tuned" Flash compared to a normal Flash?

Spent alot of time googling, can't find an answer.

The crankshaft is (so far I know) with the tuned the main difference. Tonight I will see both engines to messure it up, then I know the real differences.

For sure with the special Flash a CNC piston is used and not the Microcasted one.

No Flash special tuned, only the older 2009 models. Between te flash and the tuned version there is not much difference in the crank timing but a huge difference with the exhaust port (the highes so far I have ever seen). Also the turbo scoop on the crankshaft was with the tuned version much larger and rounder and with the normal version quite stock.

One of te 2 was new so the guy could not tell the difference but I expect more RPM with the tuned version which may have to be lighter geared

In the attachement all engines from yesterday
