Port Timing
Just a general question, does knife edging an induction port change the timing of an engine?

the answer is no, it does not change the timing, only the efficiency.

Thanks, that's what I thought. It seems like the engine would start drawing-in the intake charge once the cut begins so "knife-edging" the crank would make it more efficient... right?

there is a little more to it than that, but basicaly.

knife edging the intake port on the sleve will help the motor breath better. However when you start knife edging the intake on the crank is when you start changing the timing, and if this is done wrong you will have serious problems. So I would have someone who knows what they are doing, work on the crank.
