Default Novarossi NS12 question

I currently running a NS12 5 port engine, i notice there's slight play on my crank shaft, that is ,i can feel a slight movement forward and back, does it mean the enigne might need new bearings ? thanks for the help

I am not sure bearing conditions-slightly movement isn't full describe. But in many cases it is normal. Just make sure, when you will install flywheel to pull out shaft all the way out and then slide colet all the way to front bearing, and only after that tigh flywheel. Otherwise, you crancshaft will touch backplate.

most engines will have a set amount of play. As long as the crank is hitting the back plate your fine. the thing to worry about is the play up and down not forward to aft.

Most of them, but there is some exotic designs, that play says bearings are gone. But don't vory about them, it is very exotic and hard to find-top end state of the art ( airmodeling, boating and Rc cars).

Depending on the engine and the car you may also need to shim the flywheel if you are getting excess play on the crank. We put a 0.5mm shim between the front bearing and the collet to take up the play if it is too much.

Try this. Should work.
