Default JP P-7 L Black

I recently inherited one of these in a Serpent 966 and have run it a few times on the track now . I like the power band, very smooth, and has good runtime around 6mins with 8.5 restrictor. It has the 2015 pipe, with short header.

I have been running 25% Nitro AT Platinum Fuel in it, which I understand is 10% Synthetic Oil only. I use the Nova C7TGC plug.

My background is 1/8th offroad, with OS engines, so I have a reasonable handle on tuning, but not Novarossi style carbies.
With the engine warm, it will idle reliably for maybe 20 secs or more, and pulls away cleanly, with some smoke up into 2nd gear. Our track is mostly tight, with a long straight along the back.
After several minutes of racing, I intermittently experience a 'lean bog' out of one particular corner just 2 bends after the main straight.
I'm assuming I'm a little bit lean on either the top or bottom, but when I richen the either needle ever so slightly, it seems too rich, and won't pull away cleanly or top out properly??

I'm aware the Centax clutch might be causing this, but it operates perfectly elsewhere on the track. This problem occurs only on the same section of the track.

The only other factor i'm thinking about is ambient temps. It has been down around 15 degrees (winter here in Australia) and I've not tried any warmer plugs??

I did try some 20% nitro fuel, but the same was occurring.
Any helpful hints are gratefully received

Any ideas??
I'm going to lengthen the Fuel tube from the tank to the carby slighty; maybe I get a small air bubble in the tube via the fuel pickup whilst cornering??

Also going to lengthen the Pressure line, and install a 'Exhaust Gas Cooler' in the line, in an attempt to try and keep the pressure on the tank constant??

Have heard this can be a problem.....

Bubles are mostly from shaking fuel. Be sure your tank is mounted a little flexible. If it is screwed be sure the screws are a little bit loose.

Default Identifying a JP Racing engine

hiya..

i have scored a fw-05rr with a jp racing engine in it, but the head screw for the glow plug is stripped.. so looking for a new head.

So first things first.. i need to identify it

so it must be a 12 being efra legal and it has a black crank case with a blue head with JPRacing engraved on the top of the head.. not printed.. the only markings are an R 12 on one side, and an REX on the other... the carb had the middle adjustment screw over and above most normal carbs and is labled with REX sticker on the front.

Next... does anyone know where i could find someone to sell me stuff?

cheers

Does anybody have a spare JP Eagle R09 crankcase that they want to let go?

Mine was cut by the broken rod..

Default .12 Revolution

Hey all, was working on a friends engine to change his conrod on a .12 Revolution and noted that under the sleeve & crankcase he had a shim to alter the timing (higher sleeve), does it come as stock? since on the exploded view it wasn't showing?

Thanks

JP has done this to many team edition engines, in the normal production lines I have not seen it (so far I have seen)
