Default Novarossi 321 rod let go , what should I ?

My 321 rod let go in a race not to long ago, I havent took it apart yet. But when I do what are some of the things I should look for as in damage ? So far it looks like the piston is about mid way down but wont know intill I take it apart.

Thansk for your replies.

Look for fragments in the case, scars inside the sleeve also outside of the piston make sure check condition of bearing I'm no engine man but I know about this
