Sleeve pincher?
My friend told me about a sleeve pincher for $40 that was reviewed in RC driver. Anyone have a website/info about it? What does it look like? How does it work? thanks.

You can find him on ebay. His username is osrocket. I've had several of my sleeves done by him. He does great work. My motors run very good. What he does is he resizes the sleeve to a tight fit. Some people live by this process, some don't. All I know is my motors run as fast as new.

there is also a tool that is available on ebay made by a gentleman here in cincinnati, that allows you to do it yourself. he can also be found on ebay under the user name ctektool, i believe.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3188113139 found it. How many times can you do it? That looks really easy to use. Wonder if this is what osrocket and KINGZJ use?

make your life easy. use osrockets service and no other. you'll be happier. that is who the mags have reviewed as he has been doing it longer than anybody.

That is not the same process OS Rocket uses. Infact, he's had to fix many p/s assemblies that were done using that simple, trackside tool. It doesn't equalize pressure evenly around the sleeve. Resulting in an oval shaped sleeve. Save yourself the headache, and just send it OS Rocket.

OS Rocket, period!:)

YEAH, I agree OSROCKET, does a good job and fast!! I have gotten 3 engines done by him...........
good stuff!!!! thanks Jason |
How much does he cost? And exactly how does he do it? I can't really think of any other concievable way than to use a circular clamp, like the one on ebay.
|
no idea how he does it, but my sts .12 was only $11 on ebay plus shipping and vbery fast.

Nope, didn't get my car quite yet, I'm expecting it tommorow, monday, or tuesday. USPS online tracking info sucks, so I have no idea where it is now, it just says "Package accepted April 13th in Portland ORegon" So I don't know if my sleeve will even need pinching yet. I still need a starter box, how can I start the engine without one, until I pick one and order it? I was going to use a cordless drill in the screw on the end of the shaft, ghetto I know, but I need to test the clutch and 2 speed before I get to the track.

I asked the guy on ebay what other tools are needed to do this and he said that all you need is an allen wrench? How can you get enough pressure around the sleeve with just your hands? No thank you.
