How to pull out a flywheel ?

I need help on how to pull out a flywheel without hurting the shaft or the engine.

There might be many ways to do it and what is the best way?

Thanks,

N

a cheaper alternative is a gear puller.. its available at hardware stores. just remember to put back the screw of the sg crank (if it is sg) so that the crank wont get damaged. hope this helps. :D

oh, a rubber hammer. I have seen this somewhere. but but but, how do you use this to pull out the flywheel? it is quite different to those posted earlier on this forum.

turn the engine over, so that the backplate/pullstart is facing you.

and slowly (AND LIGHTLY) tap around the flywheel. Keep going around the flywheel tapping lightly and it will come off.

I know you do... You have a PM. :)

It will be easier if you first put the engine in an oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Then tap it with the rubber malet.
