About conrod

an old question, when should i change the conrod of a .21 NR base engine. thanks all

i would say every 5 liters of fuel you should change it

If you run only short tracks, I've had rods outlast the rest of the motor. Long tracks, change often.

Do you have experience about the Novarossi new piston pin holder springs? I have onroad .21 PLUS engine and the holders look like letter C. All my other engines have the holders looking like letter G.

Are the C-shaped ones any different to remove and do I have to use them or can I use the G-shaped ones also??

thanks guys,

it's hard to make decision on picking up a new engine, i have an OS and a RB classico 9 and i'm thinking to pickup one more. i'm target on N21-7T or S21WCS09.(RB and NR parts are the most available here) after that, maybe i can try the top line engine.

The C-clip can only be used in pistons with a slot in the side of the pisten, with older pistons without a slot it is very difficult to remove them.
Otherwise you can use the G-clipin pistons with a C-clip.

The extra material on the G-clip is weight and can create a lot of G-force on hugh RPM, even that much the clip can loosen itself.

Change OS rods constantly. Good motors but rod failures are common.

WCS09 is a great motor for the price.
