Picco 2607 pipe pressure question
I tried my picco 2607 pipe with my jlr red dot and everytime i used the throttle, it killed the engine because it became so rich. I even noticed the gas cap blowing open there was so much pressure. I then tried a friends novarossi 2630 pipe and it worked like a charm. I even tried another pipe and the engine was ok.
I tried the picco 2607 after tuning the engine with the 2630 and the same thing happened. too much back pressure. Is there some kind of special set up to run this pipe? |

First of all, was this a new pipe or a beat up one? If it gets dented at the stinger area, it can shove the stinger back into the convergent cone and partially block it off. When this happens, motors go monster rich as the pressure has gone up.
This could also be caused by a piece of the gasket getting wedged up in there. Or, it could be an internal manufacturing defect. One little blob of weld drips down into the wrong spot and there is the problem. No one will ever see it without cutting open the pipe. It's not uncommon for different pipes to require vastly different tunings but this sounds extreme. Try another pipe. |
Would anyone by chance have a web address for Picco? I would actually send the pipe back to them. I bought this last year and never used it. Maybe i could get a replacement via them.
