Dual plug head buttons
Well I know this is an all on-road engine forum but I thought I'd share my new dual turbo button for my drag race engines. So far the dual plug has definately allowed for more fuel to be added and the engines have run quicker and faster over using my standard buttons that come with the engines. The kicker is my Traxxas 3.3 and 2.5R engines that run with the big boy engines all day and used be laughed at but only after the performance is that they got some respect.

Which one gets the glow ignigtor to start the engine. how is the second one fired.

When the motor is started up with one plug glowing the other plug will come alive bij the combustion.

The heads all use turbo plugs. There was no need to do standard plugs with having these made up. You are correct in basically just glow one plug and start the engine and the other plug will glow up but for those that wanna make sure that the plug is glowing, just simply touch that plug with your igniter and go. There is a sound difference from using the standard head button and then the dual buttons which want more fuel once it is running. |

That was what we used to do with the CMB marine engines, Ran dual plugs and when the engine was running just tapped the 2nd plug and you would hear a difference. Never before a car but hey looks good!!!!

yes the CBM head had already been converted and used by us but the fuel burn room is not that great and it is too deep. The design that I have now has sorta two burn rooms for the plugs and isn't killing your compression ratio.

Why not , real cars have done that for decades . My race dirt bikes had it, heck , even my '81 Datsun had it.
