Hi
I have a new BRB set and put it in the JP T05 crankl case with a T05 crank. I set the head clearance to 0.4mm and used 16% fuel. I am having troble getting the thing to run. It has no bottom end whatsoever and runs like a dog. Has anybody else had problems?
Thanks

Ran a practice day this weekend.
Tried the a mugen 2620 pipe with std conical and a long manifold.
Pipe is definately better than the mega 2601 on the top end.
Overall found it to have a broad powerband and I could make 6 mins on a tank. With the Mega I could just make 5 mins.
I did pick up a problem later in the day ,engine kept leaning out.
Looks like the carb took a knock ,kinked the base of carb that goes into crank case.
The carb twisted and the lock that screws through crankcase dented the carb neck.Only explanation for damage.
What carb can I use to replace the std carb???
Running 16% with thin shim supplied with engine and a Mega 6 hot plug.

Just make sure when you use old carbs, they dont have leak problem because the O rings inside them need replacement in regular bases.

Its only the latest batch of BRB that is causing problems. Tuning has become really difficult for most people to say the least. Thats just changing the P/L and nothing else so something has been done differently which isnt working in our climate.

Yes I have 4 sets, one piston came apart after running in and the others dont work. Its not that they dont tune, they just dont work

0.3 will compress to about 0.25 with the alu shim
I also had a piston crack apart while running in and a rod snap at the oil hole.
No reply from edward re- parts.
I have fitted a ZX12 p/l - need to ream pr12 rod for gudgeon pin and about 0.2 undersleeve shim - PR12 head button fits if plug is loose and no shims. Hope to run it soon.

My regular break in is three tanks rich settings at a temp of 180-200 degree f. and then set it on the track for 4 tanks half to three quarter throttle and after tune the low end and work the high end needle to race tune in the next three tanks. talk at you later Peter

shimming under the sleeve ,pros and cons ???
Do you change powerband of engine by doing this ?
Any info and guidelines welcome ?
I am running .45 head clearance at the moment with 16%
What I noticed is that there is no sign of detonation on piston and the plug hasnt distorted but I have seen wear on one side of head button.
Looks like the button has indentation on one side.

Under liner shims mover the power band up to give you more top end power. Removing them brings it down. I have given my liner to a machine shop to machine .3mm from under the liner flange so I can adjust the band depending on the track
