Love my RB's and running in an STS D3 on my MTX3 right now very Quick and cheaper then the rest. I have an OS ... its a dog
RB's are very nice and easy to deal with. My STS is a little harder to deal with but more responsive with proper tuning.Never owned a nova mega nor a WASP so I have no say there.

Hi Pato,
Talking about Nova based engines, and thinking on the Pre-Worlds, I would choose like this.

If you like Novamegas, you should go for:

(2106) SX12 SS 3P TURBO with the (2170) TPO6 pipe set

Then other options are:

Novarossi NSR12S3, or

RB Concept V12 Rody 1700-000410

Both with the same pipe set as for the Novamega

Since price is not too much of a factor just get the nsr12s3 I believe it has a little more rpm than the RB and i would not put
the other engines you posted in the same category as the RB and NOVA.

Well guys ...

I just order another Novamega SX12RE EV1 engine ... (Turbos are not allowed on IFMAR Rulebook) with the "powerpack" (header and pipe) ... im just very happy with this engine right now and i tested my car on a track with similar conditions to the one that its on construction for the preworlds (with a lot of curves going uphill or downhill) and the torque its very good ...

Im not on spending tooooooo much cash on this preworld thing and right now im buying a lot of tires (foam) and that is new investment cause usually here in brazil people run on rubbers ...

So, i will get training with my actual engine and just about a week before the preworld i will break inn the new one and install it on the chassis ...

Cya and thanks a lot for your opinions ... sorry guys you emailed me telling me going with Fantom but ii dont have enough money to run over an unknown (for me) engine and then buying a new one if im dissapointed ...

bye !

Pato, well you've done it, but if there is someway to change your order, i would insist you go with the Novamega SX12SS3P Turbo.
IFMAR does allow Turbo plugs, you've misinterpreted the rule book, and if I'm wrong, you can allways use the head button from your old SX EV1, they are interchangable.

New IFMAR rule 1.4 says .........."Only glow plug ignition is allowed"......
Old IFMAR rule 1.4 said........." No turbo style glow plugs, only 1/4 UNF plug types."

Which means that today any glow plug is allowed, Std.1/4 UNF or Turbo glow plug.

Plus the Novamega SX12SS3P, has new crankcase, new piston and sleeve, new crankshaft etc.etc. It is completely a new ball game. It is the engine Michael salven used to TQ and win the 2003 EFRA Championship (read about it on MYTSN)

You're welcome.
Out of curiosity, when you say you're buying the Novamega
SX-12 RE Turbo, are you refering to the 2103T engine from 2001??
Because I'm talking about the SX-12 SS 3P Turbo 2106 engine from 2003, with the latest technology, which is the one you should be getting.
And what pipe combo comes with the "Powerpack"??
Are you buying it in Brasil??'
How much are you paying???, if I'm not abusing your trust.

Now i know TURBO ENGINES ARE ALLOWED on IFMAR ... the OS .12TR Turbo is not a good option ? ... i saw one at the track v/s a novarossi and it was very competitive ... the main straight had 70m and the OS was loosing just for inches on the main straight and on the inside part of the track (more technical) it passed the novarossi NS3 several times ...

if money isn't a problem, try a JP NS3 or Novamax MF (obviously, these engines have a 'good' price...)

Yes, because the new engine(2106) has the new MCP piston technology which allows the engine to have more revs at top end and supports higher temps, plus the case has the new additional sealing "O" ring for the carb, and mods at the boost port base, 11.5mm crank and revised timing. It is overall a better engine than the previous ones.
Just be sure they are selling you the 2106 engine.

I have good friends at wwww.atomichobbies.com, out of Miami and they retail it for about U$D260.00 and have great service to Southamerica. Ask for Phil or Anthony, the owners (they are from Colombia), great guys.

I can asure you that properly geared, the OS has no chance with this engine matched with the 2170-TPO6 pipe set (about U$D 70.00).

PS No i didn't receive the tires.

Saludos
Alfonso
