noob: engine-clutch-crankshaft too short? extend?!
 

I have a rrr evo 2 and got a 353 '09 novarossi engine....and bought the .12 sirio power clutch...
when i try to set the clutch gap (without inner bearing and shims) i can't get a reading on the clutch gap, there is no space/gap at all after the thrust bearing and no shims after thrust bearing because my clutch tool can't even read 0.3mm, it looks like the thrust bearing is pressed against the end of the shaft where the screw is....
I've been told to extend the crankshaft by using 3 x 7mm shims....?
what is the problem here?
what do i need to do to set the gap to 0.7mm on this engine?

Check your pm... you don't need 3x7 shims, you need 3x5 which go into the center of your outer clutch bearing. Electric motor armature shims, or Kyosho 96641 shims are what you want.

Several ways to solve this:

1) Use 3x5 shims between the tip of the crankshaft and the extender.

2) Use another cone, there are some differenses.

3) If you can see some space between the engine front bearing and the flywheel and so some material of the cone you can grind some material off from the rear end of the cone.
