will I notice a big difference from NSR 12S5 to NS 15S5? I am thinking to get a .15 regardless if it's illegal. I just want more power! Even though I'm stuck with the gear with my triple R. 17t 23t 60t 55t

What do you guys think? Do you think it's worth it?

It has been proven those figures are unreal. Only real figures provided by the new Dyno can be accepted.

Hey people, im currently running a N12LL3. It is 2 race meets old (a little less than half a gallon) through it, never been over 110 degrees celsius (230F). It runs on 16% and i replace the airfilter with a new one after around 3 runs!

Im a little concerned at the amount of pinch it has lost at TDC! It's the first microcast engine i've owned and i was just wondering whether or not this has anything to do with it! None of my CNC engines lost their pinch that soon. I opened it up and the piston, rod, and liner look like they are in good shape so it has me a little puzzled!

What are your thoughts or experiences?

I had a NSR12S5, it's a microcasted as well, I loved that engine, but I just got myself a NS12S5 recently over the NSR12S5...so go figure...;) Yes, microcasted engine does wear faster than CNC-ed engines. You can read back a few posts to check out what mxwrench posted --> http://www.rctech.net/forum/showpost...postcount=1053
My personal experience...I'm a budget player, so I'm quite conscious about my engine's lifespan. Almost after every weekend bashing, I just can feel that pinch in my heart when I felt that lost of pinch in my engine, it just wore off that obvious...lol... Anyhow, my NSR12S5 last me 2 years of hard bashing...I'm looking for a longer lifespan with the NS this time around, hopefully. ;)

For those of you concerned, remember the Mugen X12 is the non microcast engine.

N12LL3

Can anybody help with the factory needle settings for the N12LL3?

Dpepin 11-20-2005 05:34 PM

X12 Piston/sleeve

I own a Mugen X12 engine and I am looking into replacing the piston/sleeve, while surfing for some prices I found a rebuilt kit offered at RC-Mushroom see the following link http://rc-mushroom.com/product_info.php?cPath=172_182&products_id=7462 . I would like to know if anyone as tried this, is it a Novarossi part or some other manufacturer.

Thx for your help

Krasi_5000 11-21-2005 07:36 PM

hey guys, you probably remember me back from a few pages i asked which engine i should get. Well im 98% sure it will be the Novarossi N12LL3 from rc-mushroom.
I was just wondering how do you break your novarossi's in and what were the results. Also how long can i expect it to last if i treat it all good and nice but racing, I know it will vary but just a approximate guess...i take care of my stuff and no lean running and no abuse.
Im ordering probably tonight, i went to my LHS today and held and looked at a TZ 3 and 5 port, the LL3, a L. Collari, a RB and out of all those the novarossi was the best made and looked the best in my eyes...also had the highest price tag at my LHS hehe.

Krasi_5000 11-22-2005 06:21 PM

hey guys,
Well i just ordered it! I got the Novarossi N12LL3, MX-3 Synthesized and 4 ellegi pairs...a 37 shore, and 40 fronts and 42 and 45 rears. Now i just can't wait for them to come :)

Thanks for the help, i will let you know how it performs in a couple month...you know its winter hehe
