I hope to have my car/engine ready for the Miami GP in December, so I know the plug will be in prime conditions for it, but once temperatures come up in the Summer months, is it better to have colder plugs on hand for 80-90F degree temperatures? Or do people generally stick to the same plug and retune? Thanks!
I have been running my Mephisto with CT6 and CTO6 plugs , 25%/9% fuel in temperature range ftom 15C-40C with no issues at all. I just needed to retune the HSN a hair in or out depending on weather.

Anyone know where to get an x long stroke rod? Any word if someone is going to be making them for those of us who still need them for existing Nova owners.

There is no "xtra long stroke rod" it is just an R4 or R7 rod. You can still get these from GiMar and MAX

Questions?? Novarossi Keep On .21 has no pinch after EBIS

Hi out there I was wondering if someone could share some insight. I have broken in several nitro engines in the past with good results using the heat cycle method. After picking up a Novarossi Keep On .21 I decided to give the EBIS service a try. The engine runs great, stable idle and good power however I noticed that with the plug out I can easily turn the engine over with almost no resistance. I tried this again with the glow plug in and when the engine is warm there also seems to be very little resistance. I'm started to worry the EBIS may have cause premature wear? I understand the difference between compression and pinch but all my other heat cycled engines still have good compression and decent pinch long after break in.

Nope, EBIS has nothing to do with that. After the EBIS there is stil a lot of pinch left and you still needed some tanks to complete the break in.

The cold pich does not say a thing about how it is at operating temperature, all has to do with the expansion rates of piston and sleeve. From what we have seen did use Novarossi different piston materials and so in a same engine you can have different pistons, for sure if you have an engine from the last production.
If the engine is going strong then nothing is wrong.

Thanks Roelof for the insight. I did run a few tanks through it easing into it slowly and brought it to a race tune after another liter or more. You are definitely right about it being one of the last ones as this was the 2020 version. Really sad to hear Novarossi is out of production, especially given the reasonable pricing on these. I'll run this till its dead I guess and when the time comes maybe have it re-pinched.

After EBIS it takes more than a few tanks. I do 2 bottles on mine before I race tune it, and Ive never had a problem.

Hi everyone, I'm currently running a rex prisma but it's time for a new engine for my Capricorn C03. I'm considering either a Virtus, Mito, or Mephisto. What are your thoughts about each engine. I'm running my car on a larger 1/5 scale track. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Better to ask in the offroad section? But it is wise to take the bearing out and measure it....
