how does the 08 353 Race .12 Plus 2 perform?

thinking of getting that engine with a 2630 pipe.

The 2652 pipe with a short header will give better millage and better performance. There is also a 2660 pipe that is really good, kind of new though. Not a lot of testing with that pipe. The 2630 is a little of a fuel hog.

I have a band new flash .12 do you recommend that I add a shim and what size I will be using 20% byrons race fuel insted of 16% tha tit calls for.

dj apolaro 04-21-2010 11:45 AM

If I were you I would add at least .05, but .1 would be safer and still give great power. Total of .4 is the safest way to go. It already comes with .3 standard.

Can anyone give me the part number or the name of a supplier for the Torx head screws that my R1WC came with? It looks like the 01001 screws spec'd for the current Kangaroo engine are flat headed and slightly shorter like my older Novas, but I need a replacement and would like to retain the Torx screws.

Or are there possibly allen head screws from another manufacturer that I could substitute?

Roelof 04-26-2010 10:41 AM

It is just an M3.5 screw, with some searching you will find a hardware store who can deliver them in hex and torx.

Thanks, Roelof. I took the easy way out and ordered a set of head and backplate hex screws for an RB engine. ;)

Thanks for the link. Can't find socket head torx screws in metric thread, though. More than a couple of people I've talked to only recall Novas ever having slotted head screws, so mine must be one of those super-special, ultra rare engines

Yes, RB has indeed hex screws, they do need a 3mm hex wrench.

Regarding the torx, I had them too on my JP R01-2003 teamspec engines.
