They offer Kronos, Slick and Mousse

I had some PMT for my 1/8 buggy and they where great once warmed up... Looking for something to beat sorex
Fantastic rubber tires...we've been running with PMT tires for 2 years here in Peru in our only rubber class, and they have the best grip/wear/price balance of all tires tested. Best of all they have pre-mounted option, and the slicks are the best for almost all conditions. Kronos work best in very dusty low grip track conditions. Other great thing is you can choose from 40, 45, 50 and 55 shore hardness. A set of 4 pre-mounted tires imported directly from the factory costs us U$D 30.00 landed in Peru.

Default motor question

I'm running 30% with standard head shims (.5mm) total and a number 7 plug. I had to lean the top end to about 2 1/2 before I got any performance out of the motor. Is this about right? I'm wondering if I use less shim so that I don't need to lean this far in. I've got the bottom to about 4 1/2 out.

I'm also noticing alot of fuel around the carb. Not sure if it's coming from the front bearing. I'm going to try a nova carb to see if it makes a difference. I think this is making the motor very difficult to hold a good tune and also very sensitive on the low end needle.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Ah10,

Running temp is about 260F. It restarts easily and runs pretty good. It just seems very picky about the needle settings. A 1/16 turn on the low end makes a big difference on how the motor runs. The fuel around the base of carb and front bearing is worrying me.

I'm running a 710 with stock gearing. I've use the same car with other motors without problems. I wanted to make sure I didn't have a leak in my fuel lines and tank.

What kind of settings did you end up with your D3R?

One thing that I found out on these D-Series engines is they like to run hotter then Nova base engine. At first I tune it to run at 200F but the performance is just not there, so I kept on trying different things like headshims, plugs, gearing, tire size and such finally lean it out and run it at 250F, from that point on the motor just came alive!

So from my personally experience, 250 is a pretty good temp on these motors (also the weather too, humidity and such)

when you are running at that kind of temperture, all the needles are very sensitive (STS motor's needles are pretty sensitive compare with nova base)

on the fuel leak, you might want to strip the engine and reassemble it, sometimes when you strip it down then reassemble it then it will solve the leaking issue!
