Hi I recently bought a used D5 engine and I was testing it when it just stop runing. Then I notice that the engine had the con rod broken.

Where I can find parts online for it?

Default Instructions

hey ppl

i purchased my D5 second hand (what a beast!!) and it did not come with any tuning instructions etc.

Is there any paperwork that comes with the motor brand new that i should look at?

Yup they are a powerhouse. I now have a D3R on order woohoo

Has it been fully run in? (see step 5 of break-in instructions) Very important - you can bust the crank otherwise.

I scanned in my manual:
http://serverdoc.com/personal/pics/stsmanual.gif

What % nitro you running on?

(hey dino, D21B manual is on STS website but D3/D5 manual is not? just another job for you)

hey thanks man i really appreciate that!

ye i got it a quarter run in.. i completed the run in procedure correctly (thanks to this forum) and there is little or no resistance from the piston when the glow plug is out and i turn it over by hand.

just needed the finer details coz i been fiddling with the settings and its blowing smoke a bit too early in the revs.

im running 16% nitrous...

hey il be heading out lithcow way soon, wouldnt mind checking out your track!

Just check how many shims are installed in the engine -
Quote:
the stock shims are for 30% nitro. if you run 16% you need to take out the cooper shim which is 0.2mm the aluminium shim is 0.3mm.
Yeah be great to have you up. I hope to have new car/engine ready for this w/end racing. (opps been very slack on the r/c photo gallery of late!)

BTW - I thought smoke is good as long as u got power ?
