How often do you change the internal bearing for D5R? Mine has only gone through about a gallon and the crankshaft already has got play indicating the bearing has worn out. My friend has changed it twice. He said that maybe because of its smaller steel balls as compare to Nova's bearing making it less durable. Is it true?

a gallon is about 3785cc.
3785 / 75 = 50.46 tanks
if you can run 6 mins in one tank of fuel
50 x 6 = 300 mins
it is about 5 hours running.

After about 5 hours hard running, you better change the front bearing. The front bearing worn out faster than the rear bearing. I will change the rear bearing each ten hours running. It also depend on how you running, hard or just for fun. Also depend on the fuel's lubricity.

Default best way to get engine bearings out

Hey guys,

i was wondering what the best way to get engine bearings IN and OUT was. Usually i strip down the engine leaving only the case and bearing, then put it in the oven for 10-15 mins @ 280 degrees celcius, and then pry the bearings out. Is there a better way? Does it hurt my engine heating it up this high?

any input would be much appreciated

thanx!

The same process. The front bearing is easy to be pushed out from hot crankcase.

Dino just wanted to tell you that I run a STS D3R on the weekend and the power from this motor is amazing. I was easily able to hang with and even beat cars equipped with NS12 motors and such. My combination was R40 + STS D3R + Nitro Shoes and I lapped the entire field except one car twice in the B final.

Awesome motor, holds its tune excellent and makes a ton of power.
