The hobby shop nitrocountryrc.com is an importer of STS engines and they are based in Iowa. They should be able to help you with the current product line of .12 engines. Last two seasons I ran the STS D3R .12 in my 1/10 sedan. The engine worked best with the RD Logics Turbo II pipe. I am currently racing an STS .28 engine with an STS pipe in my 1/8 GT car. I am still breaking this engine in but it is performing well so far.

Hi,
Yes. I had one a few years ago and it went very well. Lots of torque but not a high end engine. On my G4 i had to change the gearing considerably to get any top speed but it can pull tall gearing like crazy.

If you are racing in a local club that has a very big track, this may not be the engine for you. Where i race at www.rcpikeriver.com, most of the guys have high end JP's or Novarossi 353 and the track is medium size. The d3r cannot compete on the longer sections but does very well on the technical part.
