Sounds like something is happening when you engine comes up to racing temperature.
I would chec a few items:
1. compression
2. check for air leaks at the LSN, HSN (O - rings) or carburetor.
3. ensure that the cylinder head is not loose.

if its stalling at normal operating temperatures, and everything else is "normal", you've got a case of blow-by and its time for a rebuild.

Default STSD3R

I have run this engine all season. It is easy to tune. You don't have to adjust it much. It is a high torque lower RPM engine than the others you mention. Gearing and tuned pipe selection is the key, as with all ot the engines you mentioned. I have raced against cars with the OS TZ engines in them and this enigne can keep up easily. It does not spin up quickly line the OZ engine. It makes up for it in a broad torque curve.

Up to last week I ran Byron's 20% fuel in this engine. I just tried some Werks 25% and you can tell the difference in acceleration. I will move up to 30% nitro to be competitive.

No reliability problems. The engine has has about a gallon through it and about 12 race days. Glow plugs last a long time. I am using RB#5 glow plugs.
The JL red dot etc engines are in a higher class of performance at least that is what I have seen at the track.

Hi Guys

I am looking at getting the DX12 for something different. What brand of glow plugs are you using in them? Is STS planning on releasing a new .12 anytime soon?

Thanxs

Use a mccoy manufactured plug or Fox plug. OS plugs are junk and expensive junk.

As far as STS .12's coming out in the future, that is unknown at this time.

Default STS D12EX

Hi everyone,
I need some help too choose the right pipe set for a STS D12EX. Anyone have suggestion? I use RD Logic at the moment.
I would also like to know which plug are the best with 15 % - 20 % nitro and high ambient temp. I use Dynamite # 8 at the moment.
Thanks

Haven't seen any of these brands down here in Oz. Thanks for the details though.

as for the pipe sts had a good pipe but the don't make them anymore if you dont get any answers try emailing sts directly or try to find a retailer and ask, i would say skyline v12 thats what i wanted to try but never bought the new 12
