cya !
ok i just let people know, coz it a bit misleading to call it a "team engine"

all the top manufactureres (OS RB, NOVA etc) have slightly different engines for their team drivers, but they dont call their production engines as "team" engine.

Turbo Glow-Plug , STS usually prefers a warmer plug. I like to use RB # 7 , Its like the nova # 7 or ODO 77T.

anyone else running a d12x with the vr12 pipe?

I can't seem to get the low end just right with this pipe..

about a 1/3 up through the rpm range its like a slingshot. and you better be ready for it because this engne brings it...

at first I thought it was running lean on the low end because there wasn't much smoke until it hits that power band.. richened the low end and it became worse..

I had a ths pipe and it was alot more linear through the rpm range...

What plug are you running?

I try to get my motors to idle about 40 seconds before they load up and die.

You can do the pinch method as well on the fuel line and if the rpms raise up and the motor dies within 3 seconds its too lean. If it takes awhile to raise up it could be too lean.

You want to get your motor fully cleared out and up to full operating temps before attempting those tests so you know its race tuned and not cold. Cold motors will run rich , hot motors will lean out.

If your on a track just take a lap or two at full tilt , bring it in and perform those tests. Another thing to try if this all fails , gear down 1 tooth on the pinion 1st gear. This can really waken up the low-end.

the plug is an odonnell med #77t.....

I did do the pinch test and seemed about right..
now that you mentioned gearing, I'm thinking it could be a combo of that and clutch engagement.. it engages at pretty low rpms, add that to tall gearing and it probably exaggerates the power curve..

I'll try some different settings on the clutch and see how it goes....
speaking of clutches, I like the mugen clutch alot better than the r40's.

Tabushi,

The STS 21T takes turbo plug. Thats it.

As for racers edge glow plug. I wouldnt run one cause im sure the quality is not the best compared to the larger more respected companies , but if they make them in turbo plug you can try it.

If you want a good plug for your high tweaked Team motor: HPI Turbo Plug , LRP Turbo Plug , RB Turbo Plug , Novarossi Turbo Plug , Odonnel Turbo Plug are quality plugs that Ive looked into. As for OS Glow-Plugs I dont like them as when you loose the coil it can cause damage to the motor , the rest I havent dealt with that but Im pretty sure the RB wire filament if it blows out it doesnt seem to cause damage as it passes through or disintegrates.

Reason why I like RB plug.
