u have to be carfull looking at results... when it is a club race, there are normally only 10 competitive drivers and a total field of only 25, so making top 10 isnt such a acheivement..... its like making top10 in F1 or MotoGP... ist pretty easy when u only have 20 entrants, and most teams are dissapointed with anything less than a podium.

hey guys, recently I picked up a nitro tc3 that came with a sts dr3. I always used novarossi engines, but I decided to give it a try. man-o-man, this engine performs just as good as novarossi engines with lower price tag and the parts are cheaper. I guess it is time to switch.
just had a question, the engine comes with 2 head spacers, one is silver and one is copper. I do not have a caliper to measure them. spoke to previous owner and he said that is the way engine came from factory. is this the correct clearance if I am using %20 nitro fuel. any help is appriciated.
also where can I get hold of the new D12x, does anyone modifies these engines.

Ohhh Mr Phantom, you have some more gains ahead yet then

Both shims installed is for 30% nitro, I am running 15% nitro so I have the aluminium shim installed (0.3mm) I did try going to 0.2mm but blew 2 plugs and caused sleeve damage (Lucky engine was kinda oldish). You may get away with 0.3mm and 20% nitro but to be safe id get the shim kit (comes with a 0.1mm shim) and run 0.4mm . Did you get a manual? for 20% it states 0.4mm +/- .1mm (manual at http://www.stsrc.com.tw/products.php )

Stock: Cooper shim is 0.2mm the aluminium shim is 0.3mm

The STS shim kit comes with the 0.2 and 0.3mm shims and a 0.1mm one.

Dino, I saw Ken Li's STS motor run for the first time after being broken in. The power I have to say was insane! Faster than anything on the track down the straight.
