Outlaw pipes

Looking for a few suggestions for an outlaw pipe, am building up a 220mm car, have bought a os 18 tz motor for it, anyone have any ideas on a pipe for it, seems the motor has loads of torque so looking for something to make it scream

Cheers

Hey Jason!

When are we going to see you at the track with the 220mm car?

Novarossi do a pipe for the .15 engines and so does RB. I would use them

Dont lean the .18 engine out or it will be junk. you need to run it at less than 80C

now then ziggy, ill be at the halifax national, brooklands and aldershot are abit far away, will be running the os18 in my 835 for now, hopefully be testing the engine out at halifax at club meet at end of month.

are you running the motor on 16% or 25%?

the novarossi pipes they recommend same as the .12 motors, i have a few old pipes mite give them a try 1st

Hi Jas

I run the OS on 25% and use 0.2mm shims. The motor has to be run below 85 deg C. It produces more low end but cant match the .12s for revs

I'm off back to work so cant make the aldershot national. I hope to see you around the tracks

Cheers

i think halifax should be a good meeting, i know a couple of people with 220 cars, and a few of the local 235 drivers will be there too

are the .18 motors worth running you think, have just bought an outlaw .12 motor too, the .15 are quick but dont last very long

ziggy12345 05-03-2009 12:45 AM

Yeah the .18s have the low power to drive a heavier car with more downforce and wider tyres through the corners, the .12s struggle. They are a bit lacking the top speed but you can gear up a lot

When is the Hallifax meeting

Revs

I run a 18 tz and it has plenty of rpm. More shims and 30 % nitro are the key to rpm.The 18 tz will smoke any 12 size motor if the cars are working equal. The outlaw pipe I suggested has a 6 mm stinger. the other pipes people recommended are legal pipes with a smaller stinger.

The head button gives the engine a large volume at TDC, thats why a No 3 super hot plug is supplied. You really need a different button to give it the compression. I'll try making a different one

Cheers
